Maybe it's time we take a slightly different look at what's affecting our performance in the shooting box? We're not talking about the gun, strategies, the shooting methods, or gun management. Here we're talking about what we think and feel in the box, why, and whether or not we have any say in how we respond to that. I'm sharing one of my favorite stories that is filled with crucial life lessons:
Cherokee Wisdom
The Battle of Two Wolves
One evening an old Cherokee told his grandson about a "battle" that goes on inside people.
He said: "My son, the battle is between two 'wolves'
One wolf is SELF-CENTERED....
It is anger, envy, jealousy, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority and ego.
The other wolf instills....
Joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion and faith."
The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather,
"Which wolf wins?"
The old Cherokee smiled and replied,
"The one you feed."
