This is the email exchange between Dan Schindler and Nicholas's father, Joseph Causey...before Daniel Schindler wrote, "Hey Mister, Will You Take Me Shooting?" Every youngster deserves to be enlightened. And sometimes...those memories are etched forever in our heart and soul. This story will be one of our favorites, forevermoreRead...Hey Mister, Will You Take Me Shooting?

Subject: Nick's Triumph

Email to Dan Schindler, Paragon School of Sporting Inc.

Nicholas and I had an awesome time as shooting students.  Thanks to Mr. Schindler and all of his professional staff and candidates for their patience with me and my almost ten year old son.  While I personally learned a great deal and enjoyed the seminar myself, I consider the experience to have been a triumphant investment in “my boy.”  He started the morning afraid to fire his gun and by the afternoon session told his instructor that he wanted to shoot all he could.  As we were getting in the truck to leave he said “I had a great time today”

I am also most grateful for the time Mr. Schindler took after the class to make some suggestions about Nicholas’ gun both for safety and for his growth.  I plan to follow the suggestion promptly.

We would be honored to be considered for attendance again next year.

Thanks so much,

Joseph Causey

Dan Schindler's response to Nicholas's Father, Joseph Causey:

Joe,

Just a quick note to say thanks for the nice email. We are all grateful to Jeff Allen for his exemplary instruction last Saturday morning with young Nicholas. I believe – and ask my Instructors to understand – this is all about so much more than just shooting. We as instructors are entrusted with much more than just X’s and 0’s on a scoresheet. Handled with professionalism and a great deal of patience and compassion – our students overcome personal challenges & rise to amazing heights – giving us the credit when it all belongs to them. None of this would have been possible if not for your bringing young Nicholas to our event. A door was opened for Nick that may have remained closed for his entire life had you not done so. Thank you sir, it was our privilege and a real pleasure to work with you both.

Kind Regards,

Dan, Cheryl & all our Paragon Instructors
